Opinion #1

Scholars should post their works online. For free.

And any scholars who really are interested in having an impact upon society and the world should be first in line to do so.

There is something very anti-Christian at the heart of academia. William Lane Craig unknowingly showed this when he said that Christians should infiltrate the academy to have a better impact on the culture at large. What he said may be true to some extent but it is not very democratic, nor very Christian. The Christian should be one who values the homeless man from San Francisco as much as the superstar scholar. Historically, Christianity won out because of the mass of ordinary men, not the elite. Pretty early on didn't Jesus say, "Blessed are the poor."
